They had full vision from 12-3 o clock. Why they chose to fly straight into cloud losing all field of vision is beyond me. As a paraglider pilot one of my primary intentions when reaching cloud is to not enter the white room. Especially when you know you have a ridge somewhere near you. No factor in the speed of a glider and its ability to stall and dive. This was insanely irresponsible.

I seen this video before, it was truly an act of stupidity. They had ample of time to get away from the cloud, the instructor should be grounded for risking the life of the young boy.

Even at quarter speed I couldnt tell what bird it was it came so fast. Reminds me of that oold video where the rabbit ran out in front of a race car & literally exploded on impact.

Absolutely the first thing to do is look at the instruments only! He has altitude, speed, heading and wing attitude information. These must be used to turn 180° or a wings level decent. Looking outside would be a fatal mistake.

1:27 The point where he goes fully into cloud and can no longer see the ground to his right. The instructor at this point should be telling him to veer right to keep some ground in sight, and asking him to think about what happens if he is flying blind in cloud. Wow! At 2:00 the vario stops indicating lift…meaning they are coming down deeper into dense cloud…and still no one thinks this is cause for worry.
